Changelog

What’s New

The latest features, improvements, and fixes shipped to PalletVision. We build in the open — here’s what’s been happening.

feature

Second-by-Second Zone Analytics

Track every action in every zone down to the second. Know exactly when a pallet entered a zone, how long dismantling took, and how long each zone was occupied or idle.

We've shipped a major new analytics capability — second-by-second tracking for every zone and every action on your floor.

What's New

  • Per-zone action timeline — see exactly when a pallet was placed, picked up, or moved through each zone
  • Dwell time tracking — know how long every pallet sat in a zone before the next action
  • Dismantling duration — measure how long each dismantle operation takes, per zone and per operator
  • Zone occupancy metrics — see how long each zone was occupied vs. idle across a shift or day
  • Up-to-the-second precision — no more guessing or rounding to the nearest minute

Why It Matters

Until now, floor supervisors had to estimate how long operations took or rely on manual time studies. With second-level granularity, you can identify bottlenecks, compare operator efficiency, and optimize zone assignments with real data — not gut feel.

Where to Find It

The new analytics are available in the Zone Metrics section of your dashboard. Filter by date, shift, or zone to drill into the data.

Board Count AI v2 — Faster, More Accurate

Major accuracy and speed improvements to our board counting AI model, now handling stacked and overlapping boards with 97%+ accuracy.

We've shipped a significant upgrade to our board counting AI model.

What's New

  • 97%+ accuracy on stacked and overlapping boards — up from 93% in v1
  • 2x faster inference on edge hardware, reducing latency from ~200ms to ~90ms per frame
  • Improved low-light performance for operations running dimly lit trim saw areas
  • Auto-calibration — the model now self-adjusts to camera angle changes without manual reconfiguration

Why It Matters

Board counts have historically been the hardest metric to track accurately. Boards overlap, stack irregularly, and move fast on conveyors. This update closes the gap between board counting and our already-strong pallet counting accuracy.

Rollout

This update is live on all edge devices. No action needed — models are updated automatically during the next sync window.

feature

Shift Comparison Dashboard

New dashboard view to compare production output across shifts, lines, and date ranges side by side.

You can now compare shift performance directly in the PalletVision dashboard.

What's New

  • Side-by-side shift comparison — select any two shifts and see output, idle time, and event counts compared visually
  • Multi-line overlay — compare output across different production lines on the same chart
  • Date range picker — zoom into specific time windows for deeper analysis
  • Export to CSV — download comparison data for use in reports or ERP reconciliation

Use Cases

  • Compare day shift vs. night shift output to identify staffing opportunities
  • Track week-over-week improvement on a specific line after process changes
  • Prepare data for operations reviews without manual spreadsheet work

improvement

PalletConnect ERP Sync v3

Faster, more reliable ERP sync with retry logic, batch processing, and real-time sync status indicators.

Our PalletConnect ERP integration just got a major reliability upgrade.

What's New

  • Batch sync — production events are now synced in batches every 30 seconds instead of individually, reducing API load by 80%
  • Automatic retry — failed syncs are retried with exponential backoff, ensuring no data is lost during network interruptions
  • Sync status indicator — a new status badge in the dashboard shows real-time sync health (connected, syncing, error)
  • Conflict resolution — if a record is modified in both PalletVision and PalletConnect, the system flags it for review instead of silently overwriting

Migration

No action required. The new sync engine is backwards-compatible and activates automatically.

feature

Idle Time Detection & Alerts

PalletVision now automatically detects idle periods on production lines and can alert supervisors when lines go quiet.

Production gaps are now visible in real time.

What's New

  • Automatic idle detection — when a line produces no events for a configurable threshold (default: 5 minutes), PalletVision marks it as idle
  • Idle time timeline — idle periods appear as highlighted gaps on the event timeline, making it easy to spot patterns
  • Supervisor alerts — optional email or dashboard notifications when a line goes idle beyond the threshold
  • Idle time reporting — new report showing total idle minutes per line, per shift, with trend data

Configuration

Idle thresholds can be configured per camera zone in the PalletVision dashboard under Settings > Alert Rules.

feature

Multi-Site Support

Manage multiple production sites from a single PalletVision dashboard with site-level filtering and consolidated reporting.

PalletVision now supports multi-site operations from a single account.

What's New

  • Site switcher — toggle between sites in the dashboard header to view site-specific data
  • Consolidated view — see aggregate production metrics across all sites on one screen
  • Per-site configuration — each site can have its own camera zones, alert rules, and shift schedules
  • Role-based access — assign team members to specific sites so they only see relevant data

Who This Is For

Operations with 2+ locations that want centralized visibility without separate logins or dashboards for each site.
